Continuing its Alberta Spotlight series, join the National Music Centre as it presents nêhiyawak with opener FOONYAP.
Hailing from amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) on Treaty 6 territory, nêhiyawak tells their story through honeyed vocals and a cacophony of electronic and analog sounds. Balancing their Indigenous heritage with the present, the band blends indie-rock guitar and dance floor synths alongside steady beats of carved cedar log and hand drums. Calgary-born performer FOONYAP opens.
Catch nêhiyawak with FOONYAP on April 19, 2018 at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (850 4th St. SE). Doors open at 7:30pm with the show at 8:00pm.
