What’s On Tonight
Exhibition explores art influenced by favourite movies and TV shows
- Location: In-Definite Arts Society, Optimist Gallery 8038 Fairmount Dr. SE
- Price: Free
We’ve all got our own fandom with our favourite movies and shows influencing us in deep and monumental ways. For In-Definite Arts’ latest group exhibition, 16 member artists have created works that showcase their favourite movie or TV show, and the reception features a free outdoor movie screening.
In-Definite Arts, a nonprofit visual arts centre where artists with developmental disabilities come together to create, exhibit and sell artwork, presents What’s On Tonight featuring a wide range of genres ranging from action/adventure flicks like Ghost Rider and Star Wars to classic Disney films including Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Peter Pan and Frozen.
The pieces include watercolour and acrylic paintings on canvas and plexiglass, as well as fibre art, sculpture and glass art, and are available for sale during the exhibition and reception.
Come for the art, stay for a movie. Presented in conjunction with the Fairview Community Association’s annual Fairview Film Night on September 9, 2016, attend the reception in the IDAS’ Optimist Gallery (8038 Fairmount Dr. SE) from 6:00 to 8:00pm and see the free outdoor movie starting at 8:15pm in nearby Flavelle Park (45 Flavelle Road).
What’s On Tonight runs August 2 to October 1, 2016 at IDAS’ Optimist Gallery (8038 Fairmount Dr. SE).
