Finalists from The X Factor and The Voice join the Calgary Phil as guest vocalists

A toe-tappin’ tribute to the greatest names in country music, special guest vocalists Rachel Potter and Patrick Thomas join the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for a celebration of the genre.
Plucking from reality television, Potter was a finalist on The X Factor and Thomas was a finalist on The Voice, the concert includes songs by famed singer-songwriters like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton—along with newer stars Carrie Underwood and Billy Ray Cyrus.
The orchestra will be led by resident conductor Karl Hirzer, who will be honoured with a White Hat Ceremony at Friday night’s concert by Tourism Calgary’s chairman, Rod McKay. Also on Friday, look out for a special appearance from the Calgary Stampede Rodeo Queen and Princesses where guests can meet the ladies and have their picture taken.
