Join the Quickdraw Animation Society for a screening of Torrey Pines, a queer punk coming-of-age tale from director Clyde Petersen and based on a true story.

Raised by a single mother with schizophrenia, Petersen’s story unfolds in a series of baffling and hallucinated events. With a mother fuelled by political conspiracy and family dysfunction, Petersen is kidnapped at the age of 12 and taken on a cross-country adventure that will forever alter the family as they know it.

Presented alongside a live musical score by Petersen’s band, Your Heart Breaks, the event will double as the feature film lineup announcement for this year’s GIRAF animation festival.

Torrey Pines screens at 8:00pm on October 20, 2016 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). And make sure you swing by early to catch GIRAF’s announcement at 7:00pm.
