Featuring some of your favourite gothic characters all grown-up, join Front Row Centre Players as it kicks off its season with this kooky, mysterious, and spooky musical production about family.
The Addams Family shares an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare! Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met.
She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.
“What is special about this role in particular is the fact that Wednesday is making that transition to adulthood and is beginning to feel emotions and deal with things she’s never experienced before,” says Samantha Carson on playing Wednesday Addams. “It’s a bit of an emotional rollercoaster to say the least but I really hope that the audience enjoys being on this journey with her.
“When you think of Wednesday Addams you think pigtails, black dress, dark, and moody. This storyline however, calls for drastic change and I think the most challenging thing for me was creating this new version of Wednesday without losing the girl we all know and love.”
A deliciously dark and hilarious production, Quinn Lazenby takes on the role of Gomez Addams, while Morticia Addams is played by Ginette Simonot. Ben Coburger, Chelsea Friesen, Aubrey Baux, Matthew McPhail, Gavin Logan, Christie Menzo, and David Grof round out the cast making for a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family.
The Addams Family runs September 20 to October 5, 2019 at the Beddington Theatre Arts Centre (375 Bermuda Dr. NW). Tickets are $25 or less.
