Space: The Final Frontier
Calgary Civic Symphony travels into the unknown with its first concert of the season
- Location: Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons 205 8th Ave. SE
- Price: $18 - $25
The epic chords of classical music have always gone hand-in-hand with wondering what’s out there.
Join the Calgary Civic Symphony for its first show of the season and hear Gustav Holst’s great voyage through the astronomy of our solar system. The concert also features Calgary’s first live performance of the music from the latest Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.
You can also experience the live creation of seven works of art depicting each planet by visual artist Sunita LeGallou as the music evolves. And because Halloween is just around the corner, concert goers are invited to wear their best space costume. Come as your favourite Star Trek or Star Wars character and join the costume parade during the pre-concert chat at 1:45pm.
Space: The Final Frontier takes place at 2:30pm on October 30, 2016 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons (205 8th Ave. SE). Children six and under get in free and group rates are available on request.
