Pirandello’s absurdist theatre piece comes to UCalgary
- Location: Reeve Theatre, University of Calgary 210 University Court NW
- Price: $15 - $20
One of the 20th century’s signature theatrical innovators, Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author is an absurd look at theatre’s sacred fourth wall.
Presented by the University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts, this inventive production interrogates the nature of illusion and reality with a contemporary interpretation. The story follows six characters as they appear at a rehearsal and plead for the chance to tell their stories.
Directed by SCPA faculty member Val Campbell, with a full cast and crew comprised of UCalgary students, staff and faculty, the production is certainly a highlight of the school’s drama season.
Six Characters in Search of an Author runs December 2 to 10, 2016 at the Reeve Theatre, University of Calgary (210 University Court NW)
