Get ready to enjoy the sun and extend your summer in East Village’s beautiful new plaza. Thanks to the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) and the National Music Centre (NMC), live music will be filling the East Village each Saturday until October 1, 2016.

These free, family-friendly concerts will feature local musicians and are open to everyone.

“CMLC and the National Music Centre have enjoyed an eight year relationship of collaboration and community engagement related to the construction of Studio Bell,” says Jessa Morrison, CMLC’s Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, in a statement. “Our job hasn’t ended now that the building is open. Since 2016 is the Year of Music in Calgary, we saw a great opportunity to collaborate on programming which would bring Calgarians to the community to witness the transformation happening here.”

Saturdays in C-Square lineup includes T. Buckley Trio on September 10, Dojo Workhorse on September 17, Scott Duncan Celtic Project on September 24, and The Doll Sisters on October 1.

“With the opening of Studio Bell this summer, East Village is becoming a destination for music,” said Adam Fox, NMC’s Director of Programs, in a statement. “East Village has a history of music with the King Eddy, and we intend to continue to present live music that showcases the incredible talent Calgary has to offer while also drawing visitors to the new facility and the vibrant new community.”

Saturdays in C-Square take place each Saturday, weather permitting, from September 10 to October 1, 2016, just swing by the corner of 7th Ave. and 4th St. SE anytime between 1:00 to 4:00pm. Full details can be found at studiobell.ca.
