The story of a small-town shutterbug who becomes an overnight art darling, join Theatre Junction for its next edition of Movies at the GRAND.

Part of the Exposure Photography Festival and presented in partnership with the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, don’t miss this screening of the John Waters classic, Pecker.

“We love the mission of the Exposure Festival, which is to get people together to consider photography as a medium—its past, present, and future. Pecker is a close-up story that nudges us to wonder about just that. It also explores the difference between passively recording images and actively creating them. And, hey, it’s a John Waters film, so it’s quirky and artful in its own right,” says Theatre Junction’s Business Development Manager Tonya Lailey.

And make sure you stick around after the screening for a panel discussion with Executive Director of the Exposure Festival Dona Schwartz, Professor of Media Arts at the Alberta College of Art + Design Kurtis Lesick, and photojournalist Michael Drew.

Catch Pecker on February 9, 2018 at Theatre Junction GRAND (608 1st St. SW). Doors at 7:00pm, screening at 8:00pm.
