An intimate and human account of Christ’s betrayal, suffering, and passing, join Calgary’s Festival Chorus for this signature work.
Bach’s St. John Passion sets scripture and poetry in deeply expressive Baroque music. Sung in German with projected English translation, the concert features Timothy Shantz as Tenor Evangelist as well as guest soloists from Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artists program, and will be performed partially staged.
