Melding Alberta Ballet’s 50th Anniversary and Canada’s 150th, don’t miss this world premiere performance featuring the soulful music of Gordon Lightfoot.
In the award-winning tradition of the company’s pop ballets, Our Canada follows in the musical steps of Balletlujah and Love Lies Bleeding, and uses Lightfoot’s musical legacy to explore our country through folk and country music. The show includes five world-class designers, 30 talented dancers, and impressive multi-media installations portraying significant moments in Canada’s history. Through a series of intimate duets and full ensemble pieces, choreographer Jean Grand-Maître shares his Canadian soul by merging contemporary ballet and Lightfoot hits.
