With the province opening up more and more this month, Calgary’s arts community is slowly starting to shift to in-person events. But that doesn’t mean that the virtual ones are going away! There are still lots of online offerings to check out this July.

Canada Day Fireworks

Thanks to support from Canadian Heritage, The City of Calgary hosts this firework show with a synchronized local music soundtrack on CJSW. If you can see Calgary’s downtown, you will be able to watch the fireworks in-person from your home, yard, sidewalk or neighbourhood. Otherwise, you can watch the fireworks via livestream. After consultation with local Indigenous Elders, the stream will also include a moment of silence as a way to honour children victimized by the residential school system.
