By manipulating the function of something familiar, saxophonist Nate Waters strives to educate listeners on the inner machinations of bebop while introducing them to his off-kilter compositional and improvisational style.
Presented by the University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts, enjoy a Monday night full of jazz including works by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Clifford Brown. For this concert Waters is joined by Carsten Rubeling on trombone, Mark Limacher on piano, Steve Shepard on bass, and Jon McCaslin on drums.
