Missed Connections
Popular improv show heads to the Motel at Arts Commons
- Location: Motel Theatre, Arts Commons 205 8th Ave. SE
- Price: $15
Moving into the Motel, Sour Dog Theatre brings its popular improv show Missed Connections to Arts Commons this March. The three night run features Loose Moose senior performers Renee Amber, Ali Froggatt, Quinn Contini, Michael Roik, Anyssa Mckee, and Ellis Lalonde, in a fully improvised show based on real Craiglist missed connections.
Sour Dog Artistic director and improviser Ali Froggatt says the show was inspired her own real life missed connection.
“Some posts are weird, romantic, sexual, and some vulnerable and heartwarming. As a troupe of improvisers we use these real missed connections to inspire our short form improvised scene work,” explains Froggatt in a statement. “We either pull from a box of previously printed missed connections, ask the audience for a personal missed connection, or draw from our own experiences. As a troupe we love this show because it exposes so much truth about us as human beings. Behind every anonymous post is a real vulnerable person simply seeking human connection—who can’t relate to that?”
Missed Connections runs March 9 to 11, 2017 at the Motel Theatre, Arts Commons (205 8th Ave. SE). Tickets are $15 at the door.
