Highlighting the work of American cinematographers Gordon Willis and Haskell Wexler and their politically charged films of the 1960s and 1970s, Calgary Cinematheque continues its spotlight series with Medium Cool.

A 1969 American drama written and directed by Wexler, the film stars Robert Forster, Verna Bloom, Peter Bonerz, Marianna Hill, and Harold Blankenship. Taking place in Chicago in the summer of 1968, Medium Cool showcases Wexler’s use of cinéma vérité-style documentary filmmaking techniques, and combines fictional and non-fictional content.

Medium Cool screens at 7:00pm on February 1, 2018 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Advance tickets and memberships can be found at calgarycinema.org.
