All The Little Animals I Have Eaten
Karen Hines premieres new show at the High Performance Rodeo
- Location: Big Secret Theatre, Arts Commons 225 8th Ave. SE
- Price: $15 - $40
After nearly two years of development, award-winning playwright Karen Hines teams up with One Yellow Rabbit to premiere her gynocentric new work, All The Little Animals I Have Eaten.
Inspired by the Bechdel-Wallace Test and rejecting the idea that only scripts that featured male protagonists could succeed, the show features four women— Ellen Close, Denise Clarke, Georgina Beaty, and Nadien Chu—who play multiple characters. In it we meet Frankie, a thesis-addled film student as she serves charcuterie to a well-heeled crowd. Her evening shift has become a harrowing balancing act and while trying to finish her term paper, she starts dissecting some very female conversations with some very unusual characters.
All The Little Animals I Have Eaten runs January 12 to 21, 2017, with preview performances on January 10 and 11, at the Big Secret Theatre, Arts Commons (225 8th Ave. SE) and is part of the High Performance Rodeo, running January 5 to February 2, 2017.
