Four local playwrights tackle mental illness as Knox Theatre Collective and Urban Stories Theatre present Just Acts—a one act play festival of new work written about social justice issues.

The 2017 festival debuts four works each falling under the theme of Examining Mental Illness(es) and the lineup features some of the best local talent Calgary has to offer. All plays run every night, are under 20 minutes each, and include Kas Nixon’s Picture Says a Thousand Words, Maria Crooks’ La Mere/La Mer, Chelsea Shortall’s Car Keys, and Jessica Gurnsey’s (un)convention.

Just Acts Play Fest runs February 14 to 19, 2017 at Knox United Church’s Lower Theatre (506 4th St. SW).
