July Exhibitions

Check out new visual art exhibitions around Calgary this July from the annual Stampede Art Show, to exhibitions celebrating the beauty of summer. Each month, we spotlight a new or outgoing visual art exhibition in the city, followed by a roundup of others you can enjoy.

Opening this month, Memory Problems is a new solo exhibition by Glasgow-based artist Erica Eyres at Norberg Hall. Of her latest work, artist Jon Pylypchuk writes that Eyres “creates thoughtful meditations on our past and brilliant examples of our present,” exploring how memories shape our identities.

Eyres uses childhood memorabilia and pop culture from the 1980s and ’90s to reflect on how identity is shaped by social ideas around womanhood, domestic life and the everyday, the gallery notes. By transforming these familiar objects, she makes us question what we remember and why.

Head over to Norberg Hall at 1041 2 Ave. NW to see Memory Problems, on view until August 23, 2025.
