Ulrike Ottinger’s 1989 epic Johanna d’Arc of Mongolia is a mesmerizing, feminized vision of cultural contact. The film follows a group of mostly European women travelers on the Trans-Siberian Express who find themselves taken captive and captivated by an all-female group of Mongolian warriors.

Johanna d’Arc of Mongolia screens at 6:00pm on March 29, 2018 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Presented with English subtitles, advance tickets and memberships can be found at calgarycinema.org.

Make sure you swing by early as a pre-screening reception kicks off at 5:00pm. A casual conversation follows the film.
