National Music Centre teams up with Sled Island for not-to-be-missed show

Growing up in rural Quebec, Jean-Michel Blais began writing original compositions by age 11 and by 17 was invited to the Trois-Rivières Music Conservatory. But it wasn’t until years later when he rediscovered his love of piano and began creating a new musical forum.
Swing by Studio Bell this October to hear the Polaris Prize Short-Listed musician seamlessly meld his classical training and his fearless exploration of composition. Presented by the National Music Centre and Sled Island, experimental Calgary flautist Jiajia Li opens.
The concert takes place at 7:00pm on October 4, 2018 at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (850 4th St. SE). Doors open at 6:00pm.
