From London to Alberta, this new production brings together internationally-acclaimed Malachite Theatre and Edmonton’s Grindstone Theatre for a rousing adaption of this Shakespeare history.

The internationally-touring Malachites seek to restore the original spirit of Shakespearean performance to the modern stage and with a gender-balanced cast of Albertan actors, it marks he first time a female actor has played Henry V on the Canadian stage. The production also features an evocative new live score and is set in the surroundings of St. Stephens Anglican Church for its Calgary stop.

An epic, complex and moving history of a young King’s triumph against all odds, the production is the Malachites first in Canada, and, thanks to its partnership with Grindstone Theatre, will be bringing a little bit of Elizabethan London to audiences across Alberta this winter.

Henry V runs January 21 and 22, 2017 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 14th Ave. SW).
