With ice lounges, live music, captivating art, and endless lights, Calgary’s winter festival is ready to ramp up your Family Day long weekend. GLOW is ready to light up Calgary’s downtown core.

Staged across four blocks on Stephen Avenue, the free family-friendly event is sure to have something for the whole family to enjoy so get out and embrace the beauty of winter.

“The Calgary area is known internationally as an all-season playground. GLOW is all about celebrating the best of winter in the heart of our city on historic Stephen Avenue,” says Marco De Iaco, Executive Director, Calgary Downtown Association, in a statement. “This festival, which began as an art walk, has built on our foundation and now grown into a fun winter festival for the whole family to enjoy.”

With a hand-crafted, illuminated ice slide, BATL Axe Throwing, and a trackless 18-passenger train, the streets will be lined with brilliant light installations, ice sculptures, and a live drawing project.

There are even three live concert stages with 35 musical acts for people to check out. See sets from Tyler Shaw, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, Neon Dreams, Shred Kelly, The Static Shift, Jesse Roper, and more. You can even head over to the Ice Bar and Lounge to hear the world-renowned William Close and the Earth Harp Collective.
