ProArts@Noon Presents Knox and Scarboro United Church Choirs

In celebration of Canada 150, singers from the Knox and Scarboro United Church Choirs joined together to participate in the Canada Day Unisong Festival in Ottawa. Hear them in Calgary this week as they perform this noon hour concert of selections from across Canada.

Cyanotype Printing with Stacey Watson

Make photographic prints using sunlight in this day-long workshop. Small objects and negative transparencies will be used in exposures on light sensitive cyanotype paper and the resulting images will be compositions in shades of Prussian blue. Participants must be over the age of 16 to participate and all materials will be provided.

Contemporary Kids Cityscape Collages

Children can cut and collage photos to create unique cityscapes, linking to Contemporary Calgary’s exhibiting artist Isabelle Hayeur’s composite images. Families get to go on a brief tour followed by this engaging art activity developed specifically for children, ages five to 12.

Victors, Villains and Vixens

Although the Calgary Folk Fest is taking over Prince’s Island Park, Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow is heading to St. Patrick’s Island for a special, free performance. Victors, Villains and Vixens is a collection of different scenes from a variety of Shakespeare plays, performed by up-and-coming performers.
