The act of movement can be simple or, with the right set of circumstances, it can be completely mesmerizing. And trust us, the Fluid Movement Arts Festival is anything but ordinary.
Each year the Fluid Fest brings artists and audiences together for a celebration of contemporary art, dance and physical performance. From grassroots to glitz, artists from around the globe gather in Calgary for three weeks of performances, workshops, artist talks and happenings to inspire and connect.
With a thrilling lineup of events, it’s certainly tough to pick but pick we must. Here are our not-to-be-missed events of the festival:

Dollhouse

Prolific Canadian choreographer Bill Coleman confronts a series of almost biblical challenges in his new performance. Combining tap, performance art, and dance-theatre with mechanical and electronic manipulated objects, the show tells the story of a man out of sync with his surroundings.

Embracing the theme Are you Dance Curious?, You(Tube)-ers Tyler Longmire, Tet Millare, and Jacquie Gallos Aquines will teach an assortment of dance using You(Tube) videos. It’s your turn to dance! Presentations begin at 10:00pm with Fluid Fest closing celebrations to follow.
