- Price: $50
Focusing on a new approach to advancing diversity and inclusion, nonprofit organization Feel Foreign is challenging us all to experience, embrace, and learn from different cultures and communities.
The Feel Foreign Film Contest allowed people to tell their stories about experiencing another culture and what they learned from it. The winners will be announced September 15, 2016 in an evening featuring unique short films that celebrate the spirit of inclusion that strengthens our communities.
“The seven contest finalists tell stories about different cultures and experiences,” says Feel Foreign co‐founder Bonita Paquette, in a statement. “We are excited to screen these seven videos and to announce the top three submissions at the September 15 event. First, second and third place winners will share in $10,000 in prizes. We will also be awarding a Fan’s Choice award based on audience votes at the event.”
Presented by RBC, and co‐hosted by CBC’s Doug Dirks and Omni Television personality Jenny Yu, the Feel Foreign Film Contest Awards take place September 15, 2016 at Theatre Junction GRAND (608 1st St. SW). Tickets are $50 and includes an Oscars-style gift bag filled with goodies from The Core as well as a post-awards reception.
