- Location: Union Cemetery Erlton St. & 32 Ave. SW
- Price: Free
Each year on the Autumn Equinox, people of all ages and beliefs gather in historic Union Cemetery for an evening honouring the deceased in creative and meaningful ways.
With inspiring art installations, video projections, and shrines created by professional artists, join members of Calgary’s arts community in creating bittersweet rituals of remembrance and reflection. A free, family-friendly, award-winning event, participating artists include Lisa Hodgkinson, Michelena Bamford, Kris Demenor, and the Calgary Renaissance Singers and Players.
Equinox Vigil takes place from 6:30 to 9:30pm on September 23, 2017 at the Union Cemetery (enter off of Spiller Rd. SW). The evening caps off with a lantern procession winding its way down the Union Cemetery hill. Visit equinoxvigil.ca for the full schedule.
