With premieres by La Otra Orilla and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, this unmissable double bill features live music and incredible performances—it’s your chance to see Arctic flamenco Magnetikae alongside fiery love tale Lovestruck.
Iconoclastic duo Myriam Allard and Hedi Graja of La Otra Orilla assemble a visual environment, sound references, and elegant, passionate colours, continuing a journey they began 10 years ago. Magnetikae is a flamenco story on an ice floe that is both original and poetic.
Then get ready as DJD presents something hot to complement the cool of Magnetikae.
Lovestruck follows Cupid’s arrow through a path of myth, love, fantasy, and desire, featuring live music by the Rubim de Toledo Ensemble. With concept, direction, and choreography by Kimberley Cooper, the piece features DJD Company dancers Sabrina Comanescu, Julia Cosentino, Jared Ebell, Jason Owin F. Galeos, Catherine Hayward, Kaja Irwin, Shayne Johnson, and Natasha Korney.
