Jazz Master returns to Calgary with Arts Commons Presents

Recognized as a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts, Dee Dee Bridgewater is one of the few women to be awarded the highest honour in American jazz.
Arts Commons Presents three-time Grammy Award and Tony Award-winner as part of its TD Jazz series. Last seen in Calgary in 2013, she is now joined with young trumpet innovator and collaborator Theo Croker.
“For me as a musician, I’ve got to continue challenging myself. I’m sure at some point I’ll come back to straight-ahead jazz, but I’m feeling the need to go outside of that realm right now to enlarge my musical vocabulary,” says Dee Dee Bridgewater, in a statement.

Dee Dee Bridgewater performs for one night only on November 17, 2016 in the Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons (205 8th Ave. SE).
