With an exciting split bill of new work in an intimate setting, join the University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts as its Dance ProSeries returns.
Returning to performing following a three-year hiatus, see Marie France Forcier premiere two new solos by nationally celebrated and internationally recognized choreographers Linnea Swan and Brandy Leary. Marie is a meditation on the inner life of a woman while Verisimilitude is a study of the intricate spiraling and articulation of the spine through the martial and acrobatic body.
The evening is rounded out by Melanie Kloetzel and Jocelyn Leiver dancing in Faust, The Anatomy of a Disease (Part I), a work-in-progress presentation that addresses Faust as a cultural icon and a representation of human failings.
