Featuring the best of non-fiction films yet to be screened in Calgary, join the Calgary Underground Film Festival for the seventh annual edition of CUFF.Docs.

Celebrating real life that’s worth watching, the festival has curated 13 international feature films in a variety of genres, subjects, and documentary styles alongside a shorts package. Sharing the stories of an infamous prank-caller, an exploration of Quentin Tarantino’s career to date, and a look a man obsessed with toilets, CUFF.Docs is a great opportunity to open yourself to factual content and films that advance the medium of documentary filmmaking.

One of the most anticipated films in this year’s lineup is the Alberta premiere of J.R. “Bob” Dobbs and the Church of the SubGenius. An exploration of an underground movement that was been called the world’s most aggressively preposterous theology, filmmaker Sandy K. Boone looks at how it has galvanized the imaginative, the artistic, the nerdy, even the deranged, and exposes a simmering dystopia. Boone is even expected to make an appearance at the screening.

CUFF.Docs runs November 27 to December 1, 2019 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Head to calgaryundergroundfilm.org for the full schedule.
