Featuring the best of non-fiction films yet to be screened in Calgary, join the Calgary Underground Film Festival for the sixth annual edition of CUFF.Docs.

Celebrating real life that’s worth watching, the festival has curated 13 international feature films in a variety of genres, subjects, and documentary styles. Covering topics from medical cannabis to the pop-sensation M.I.A. to giant swamp rats, CUFF.Docs is a great opportunity to open yourself to factual content and films that advance the medium of documentary filmmaking.

One of the most anticipated films in this year’s lineup is the Canadian premiere of The Insufferable Groo. Stephen Groo has made over 180 films in the past 20 years crossing a broad range of genres from fantasy to romance to sci-fi thriller. A true American DIY amateur, his eccentric style has gained him a loyal Hollywood fan base. With no permits, little money, and volunteer actors, the film follows Groo as he gives it one last shot to produce his original elf/human love story.

CUFF.Docs runs November 28 to December 2, 2018 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Head to calgaryundergroundfilm.org for the full schedule.
