A mysterious and diabolical inventor, Doctor Coppélius, creates a life-sized dancing doll named Coppélia, a doll so lifelike that Franz, a village youth, becomes infatuated with her beauty. Jealous of his new love and curious about this new girl, his fiancee Swanhilda sneaks into the doctor’s house to discover his secrets.
Join Jeunesse Classique Ballet, a pre professional ballet company based in Calgary, for this classic ballet in three acts. Special guest Jaciel Gomez, former Principal Dancer with The Cuban National Ballet and The Alberta Ballet Company, will dance the role of Franz.
