Fifth annual fest brings a full week of European productions to the Globe

Movie lovers rejoice. Calgary’s own film festival concentrating on European features kicks off this week with On the Milky Road.

Calgary European Film Festival takes over the Globe Cinema for a full week of productions from 16 different countries. This year’s lineup includes films from Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, and Czech Republic. All productions will be screened in their respective languages with English subtitles.

Serbian film On the Milky Road stars Monica Bellucci and won the Little Golden Lion for Best Director at Venice Film Festival 2016. Other films include Sieranevada, Burning Love, Fukushima Mon Amour, and closes out with César Award-winning film, Courted.
