Calgary Clown Festival
Local clown community takes the spotlight with new festival
- Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
A rare opportunity to introduce Calgary to the not-so-serious art of clowning and challenge the perception of what it is, this new festival is sure to have you laughing, emoting, and questioning everything you know about clowns.
Join the Pumphouse Theatre and the Calgary Clown Society for this not-to-be-missed festival.
Showcasing the rich and talented community of artists with local ties, Canada’s own clowns of horror Mump & Smoot headline this inaugural lineup with their classic show Something.
There’s even a family day on Saturday for the kids and late-night cabarets for the adults. Other performances include Green Fools Theatre with its family-friendly tale Teddy, Vaudevillian, a one-man variety show from James Jordon, and Jan & Peg’s Ritual Sacrifice from Valour & Tea.
The Calgary Clown Festival runs September 18 to 21, 2019 at the Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW). Tickets can be purchased individually, as evening passes, and in family fun day bundles. Visit pumphousetheatre.ca for the full schedule.
