With silkscreen prints featuring the work of recent exhibiting artists, visual arts fans won’t want to miss this upcoming fundraiser for The New Gallery.

Omar Badrin, Jo-Anne Balcaen, and Lisa Lipton each showed their work at The New Gallery over the past year and have created limited edition prints to raise funds for this charitable organization. Ranging from $30 to $125 each, all revenues go to support The New Gallery’s vision to provide opportunities for artists that foster social and political creative practices.

“We started this fundraiser in 2012 in order to step away from the art auction model used by many other art institutions. It was important to TNG to create a model that was aligned with our artist-run ethos, and that provided an opportunity to artists, versus another obligation or burden,” says The New Gallery Director Su Ying Strang, in a statement. “Our organization takes on the materials costs and labour associated with the prints, gives the artist a portion of the edition, and a tax receipt for the prints that we keep to sell.”

The new works will be launched starting at 8:00pm on November 19, 2016 at the The New Gallery’s Main Space (208 Centre St. SE).
