bug
manidoons collective uses movement, poetry, and prose in unflinching work
- Location: West Village Theatre 2007 10th Ave. SW
- Price: $20 - $30
A story about women in an Indigenous family navigating addiction and inter-generational trauma, creator and performer Yolanda Bonnell weaves together an honest, unflinching, and raw tale.
When their addictions manifest as manidoons (Ojibwe for bug, insect or worm), the creature burrows beneath their skin, pushing them beyond the brink. Using movement, poetry, and prose, bug shares stories of women grappling with their painful past and making tough choices to survive.
bug runs January 18 to 20, 2019 at the West Village Theatre (2007 10th Ave. SW) and is part of the High Performance Rodeo.
