BIG Winter Classic
Warm up and party on with this four-day, winter wonderland weekend
Born out of an idea to celebrate Calgary year-round, not just in the warm summer months, the BIG Winter Classic pairs a killer musical lineup with local beer and local visual arts.
Marking its fifth year as a festival, this winter wonderland weekend takes the best and brightest people in our city and puts them in a room together to create, imagine, dream, drink, and play—all in the dead of winter. And, to be honest, the weather doesn’t actually look that bad for this year’s festivities.
The lineup sees headliners from all over North America come to town with everything from grungy punk rock to indie country to modern Motown. Bands include Chicago’s gender bending punk rock icon Ezra Furman, Toronto’s indie rock darlings Girlfriend Material, Whitehorse’s soulful powerhouse Paris Pick and the Pricks, Nashville’s energetic roots rocker Ron Gallo, and so many more.
