This timely offering digs deep into the Russian countryside and presents a unique view of the country’s penal system. Loosely inspired by a Dostoevsky short story, A Gentle Creature depicts a Kafkaesque journey as one woman attempts to visit her husband in prison.

A Gentle Creature screens at 6:30pm on February 22, 2018 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Presented in Russian with English subtitles, advance tickets and memberships can be found at calgarycinema.org.
