Showcasing the films of Wong Kar-Wai as part of its Masters Series, join Calgary Cinematheque as it screens the Hong Kong romantic drama, 2046.

A loose sequel to Days of Being Wild and In the Mood for Love, it follows the aftermath of Chow Mo-wan’s unconsummated affair with Su Li-zhen in 1960s Hong Kong. Adding in science fiction elements, the story is presented in a non-chronological order.

An auteur with an instantly recognizable style, Wong Kar-Wai is known for his eye-popping visuals and memorable music. The second of four films selected by Calgary Cinematheque, each screening highlights the core style of Wong Kar-Wai as well the range of his filmmaking.

2046 screens at 7:00pm on November 23, 2017 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Presented in Cantonese, Japanese, and Mandarin with English subtitles, advance tickets and memberships can be found at calgarycinema.org.
