Powwow Trail 101
Want to learn more about Powwows? Have you ever wondered if there are protocols that you should know about? Throughout the summer, there will be outdoor demonstrations at select Library locations prior to the Siksika, Kainai, Tsuut’ina, Piikani, and Stoney Nakoda Powwows — which all make up the Powwow Trail.

Square Dance Rocks!
Square dancing is just walking to music! Get acquainted during Calgary & District Square & Round Dancers Association’s intro hours on Tuesdays. No partner necessary. An Experienced caller will introduce you to the basic steps. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes.
Dance in League with the Night
Experience a traditional flamenco performance! The night will be a backdrop for evocative lyrics, soul-stirring songs, searing guitar music, and poetically inspired dance. Enjoy the artistry of flamenco powerhouses: singer Silvia Temis, guitarists Michael Boyle and Jake “El Chinito” from Victoria, dancer Anastassiia Alexander, and visiting from Berlin, dancer Fiona Malena.
