Go on a ghastly and unexpected journey with the Calgary Underground Film Festival summer series, Field Trips of Terror. Ride into the unknown and enjoy two CUFF curated films matched perfectly with unconventional screening locations.

On August 17, jump on the BassBus and head to Eau Claire Distillery for a screening of an affectionate satire of 1960s B-movies, Matinee. Starring John Goodman as a movie producer who uses every gimmick in the book, tickets are $25 for members, $35 for the rest, and include transportation to Eau Claire Distillery, popcorn, and a tour and tasting before film. No minors are allowed for this one but mark your calendar for the second screening of the series.

A free, all-ages screening, on August 26 head to Lukes Drug Mart (112 4th St. NE) to catch 1988’s The Blob. As the oldest independent pharmacy in Calgary, the location is the perfect setting for this film about an alien organism that arrives in a small California town.

Field Trips of Terror take place August 17 and 26, 2017. Head to calgaryundergroundfilm.org for more details.
