A show that promises to captivate and entertain, join Decidedly Jazz Danceworks for an extravaganza for the curious. Paying homage to Vaudeville while adding a modern twist, Modern Vaudevillians brings together a variety of acts sure to dazzle.
Featuring the DJD company dancers alongside a live band and guest performers Peter Balkwill, Allison Lynch, Patrick Chan, and Troy Emery Twigg, the production is a one-of-a-kind spectacular.
“I’m very excited for Modern Vaudevillians,” says DJD Artistic Director Kimberley Cooper, in a statement. “The form of Vaudeville has such a rich and sometimes sordid history, with roots in circus, burlesque, minstrel and medicine shows. It grew to huge popularity during the early part of the last century and we’re looking forward to exploring this world and putting our own twist on it. It will be a boisterous, disorderly, exceptionally fun evening.”
