Three illustrious musicians—violinist Scott St. John, cellist Rafael Hoekman, and pianist Katherine Chi—join Calgary Pro Musica this week to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary.

Showcasing the history of Canadian composition, the concert concentrates on the richly romantic works from the first half of the 20th century. The evening also includes a recreation of the 1930 London BBC Radio broadcast recital of Canadian Music by Harry and Frances Adaskin—a moment pivotal in introducing the most prominent Canadian composers of the day to English audiences.

Horizons Series 3: Celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary takes place at 8:00pm on March 3, 2017 at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary (206 University Court NW).
