Join 2016 JUNO-nominated trumpeter Al Muirhead for the release of his most ambitious project to date.
A western Canadian jazz icon, Muirhead recently came to wider prominence with the release of his debut album It’s About Time at the age of 80.
His third release in two years, Northern Adventures – The Canada Sessions Vol. 1 brings together with many of Canada’s jazz greats to perform a collection of Muirhead’s favourite jazz standards. And, at the Calgary release party, Muirhead features some of his special guests from the recording—Tommy Banks on piano, Vancouver jazz giant Campbell Ryga on sax, and award-winning bassist, Kodi Hutchinson.
