Get ready, one jazzy party is about to begin in your own home! Moving into the digital sphere, Calgary’s own JazzYYC collective is heading online with this month-long festival presented in partnership with Jazz Home Delivery.

The first ever virtual TD JazzYYC International Jazz Days Festival kicks off on International Jazz Day, April 30, and runs until May 27, 2020.

Each and every day, music lovers can watch the TD Jazz YYC International Jazz Days Festival on the JazzYYC website and on social media as presented via Jazz Home Delivery, Tim Tamashiro’s response to COVID-19 separating jazz fans from live jazz performances. Through this stream, he invites musicians to deliver their music and stories from their homes to fans around the world.

The festival features Calgary artists along with other Canadian artists and is presented in a professional, quality-sounding, fun, and entertaining broadcast.

It all kicks off with a performance by Johnny Summers and Bill McBirnie with week one rounded out by a jazz battle from Stephen Fletcher and Jon May, an evening of Latin jazz with Esteban Herrera and Oliver Miguel, a night of theatre with Mark Limacher and Tina Hartt, and so much more.

“Our first week of the TD Jazz YYC International Jazz Days Festival is a great mix of local, national, and international jazz artists,” says JazzYYC Artistic Producer Kodi Hutchinson in a statement. “We know fans will enjoy watching and listening online to their favourite artists, and some they’ve never heard before, as they play and talk with host Tim Tamashiro. We look forward to seeing you all online.”

The TD JazzYYC International Jazz Days Festival runs April 30 to May 27, 2020. The shows are free to watch but please leave a tip for the artists if you can. Visit jazzyyc.com for a full schedule and detailed information on where you can watch.
