Presented by Downstage, with the generous support of Hit & Myth Productions, these 90 hilarious minutes redefine what it means to win.

Two dads and their sons are sentenced to the dressing room to sort out a misunderstanding. As rivalry turns to friendship, the show dives into hot topics such as hockey culture, male emotional literacy, and sexuality.

“I’m delighted to direct this hilariously fast paced and imaginative play that is focused on creating more inclusion in the sport of hockey and in our society,” says Clare Preuss, Artistic Director of Downstage, in a statement. “This play is brilliantly funny, poignant, and heart warming. Playwright Sunny Drake skillfully maneuvers from past to present as we piece together a series of incidents that lead to one bloody nose, a dose of emotional investigation, and a whole lot of laughs.”

Directed by Preuss with excellent Calgary talent both on and off stage, the play is sure to provoke vibrant dialogue and features nightly post-performance discussions.

Men Express Their Feelings runs March 5 to 15, 2020 at the Big Secret Theatre, Arts Commons (2nd Floor, 225 8th Ave. SE). Due to unforeseen circumstances, Downstage has re-cast Brett Dahl in the role of Brad and re-scheduled the upcoming performances.
