Femme Wave
Calgary’s feminist arts festival returns for a second year
- Price: Free - $60
With the goal of creating an integrated, encouraging arts scene with opportunities for women and non-binary artists, Femme Wave returns for 2016.
Bigger and better, look for music, comedy, film and workshops across various venues in downtown Calgary including three very cool visual art endeavours meant to encourage a shift in binary thinking—pop-up The Garden (1314 1st St. SW), This is What Makes Our Guts So Vibrant at TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary’s U-Hall space (2009 10th Ave. SW), and Un_form in Stride Gallery’s Project Room (1006 Macleod Tr. SE).
There’s even a section of all ages, pay-what-you-can shows taking place on November 19.
Femme Wave runs November 17 to 20, 2016 at venues around downtown. Head to femmewave.com for the full festival schedule.
