The Hollow
Vertigo Theatre tackles Agatha Christie’s mystery classic
- Location: The Playhouse at Vertigo Theatre 161, 115 9th Ave. SE
- Price: $29 - $71
An unhappy game of romantic follow-the-leader devolves into murder at the home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell. Most had the opportunity and many had a motive in this classic whodunit.
Agatha Christie’s mystery classic The Hollow is considered to be one of the playwright’s most accomplished works. Inspector Colquhoun (played by Grant Linneberg) and Detective Sergeant Penny (played by Kevin Corey) must solve the crime in this witty comedy of manners.
“This is a play about great complex characters. I deeply hope that audiences will not only enjoy the guaranteed mystery, but those who cause it,” says director Jan Alexandra Smith, in a statement. “For it is through Christie’s endless exploration of and empathy with the human psyche and all it’s frailties, longings, unrewarded hopes, denials, defences and insecurities that we can all appreciate the very characteristics that could drive one to murder.”
And with four shows added to its limited engagement, it’s a whodunit you won’t want to miss!
The Hollow previews November 12 to 16 and runs until December 17, 2016 in The Playhouse at Vertigo Theatre (161, 115 9th Ave. SE). Tickets start at $29 and are available at the Vertigo Theatre Ticket Office, by calling 403.221.3708 or at vertigotheatre.com.
