ProArts Presents Prashant Michael John

Born in Lahore and raised in Bangladesh, Prashant Michael John moved to Canada at the age of 19. His compositions, while influenced by the musics of the Indian sub-continent, combine the instrumentation of a variety of genres and world cultures. Hear him perform in this free lunch hour concert.

Friends We Haven’t Met

Local writer, artist and designer, Kaitlyn Hatch launches her new book this week. The evening is open to the public starting at 7:30pm, although dinner reservations can be made from 6:30pm. A reading is slated for 8:00pm and a selection of Hatch’s artwork will be on display.

Single Onion #136

The Single Onion wraps up its fall season with readings by Shane Book, Tyler Perry, and a tribute to the poetry of Hector Williamson, an active member of the Calgary writing community since the 1970s. Williamson passed away on September 19, 2016, and the Single Onion pays tribute with the help of writers who knew him well.

Freehand Books Fall Bash

Artist Talk: Larissa Fassler

Larissa Fassler heads to the Esker Foundation to speak about her interest in the public spaces of cities and the various methods she uses to survey these public sites.
