Artist Studio Portrait Exhibition highlights City of Calgary initiative

On October 6, 2016 a group of artists transformed the Calgary Municipal Building’s atrium into an artist studio. Pairing City of Calgary employees with In-Definite Arts artists, participants used marker pens on plexiglass to draw and trace live portraits of each other.
And now, you can see the finished pieces as part of IDAS’ Experience Inclusion: Artist Studio Portrait Exhibition.
“The Artist Studio, part of Experience Inclusion, was an opportunity for City of Calgary employees to draw their own portraits, meet interesting artists and contribute to a conversation about visible and invisible disabilities,” says curator Roxanne Taylor.
Experience Inclusion is an annual City initiative to help build an inclusive workplace and promote diversity. A selection of the art was exhibited in the municipal building atrium from October 6 to 13, and you can now see the entire show in the IDAS Optimist Gallery.
Experience Inclusion: Artist Studio Portrait Exhibition runs October 17 to November 3, 2016 at In-Definite Arts Society (8038 Fairmount Dr. SE) with a reception slated for November 3, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
